Inclement Weather
February 18, 2025
Due to inclement weather and potential freezing temperatures, please be aware that water meters can freeze, and this will fall under the responsibility of the homeowner and/or HOA to maintain.
We recognize that this can be an inconvenience to homeowners & renters in the area and can be prevented with the appropriate steps.
Tips:
- If the temperature falls below 20 degree you can leave a faucet on a trickle throughout the night to keep the water moving through the pipes limiting the risk of water freezing in the line.
- If a meter is located inside your home (i.e. closet, under sink, or crawl space) make sure it is properly insulated to prevent freezing.
- If a meter is in a meter pit outside your home, you can contact your HOA to insulate with straw/hay to help in the insulation process.
- In the event your meter/line does freeze you can contact a plumber to defrost.
- Be patient, as temperatures begin to rise above freezing the lines will thaw and return the flow of water to the home.
